Role Overview
Within the GR&S framework, the Enterprise Security and Fraud (ES&F) sub-division is dedicated to safeguarding Vanguard's crew, assets, data, and client interests on a global scale. Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct investigations and respond to incidents related to insider threats by gathering and analyzing pertinent user and system data to assess the scope and impact of such incidents.
  • Leverage advanced security tools and technologies to identify and analyze unusual behaviors, ensuring the integrity and protection of enterprise assets through the technical enforcement of security policies.
  • Write complex correlation searches in SIEM and develop dashboards and alerts for the detection of insider activities.
  • Design and implement UEBA use cases in SIEM to identify and detect insider threats.
  • Perform thorough risk assessments to pinpoint potential insider threats within the organization and devise risk mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze information from various data sources to assemble, correlate, evaluate, and assess internal risks to enterprise information, resources, crew, and networked systems.
  • Proactively identify data trends indicative of internal threats and support internal threat hunting initiatives.
  • Provide forensic analysis and investigative support to both internal and external partners, including HR, Legal, Fraud, Global Security, and Compliance.
  • Contribute to the formulation of policies, procedures, and standards to uphold optimal security controls across the organization.
  • Assist in the review and development of reports, policies, plans, and other documentation necessary to achieve program objectives.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to drive effective outcomes and mitigate internal risks and threats to Vanguard's crew, information, and resources.
  • Mentor junior team members to enhance their technical skills.
Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with SIEM, including the ability to write complex queries, correlation searches, and build dashboards and alerts for insider activity detection.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as UEBA, Risk Weighting, DLP, and EDR.
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant work experience.
  • An undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required.
  • CISSP certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
Preferred Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for drawing conclusions from large data sets to determine the root causes of incidents.
  • Effective communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse business areas and technical backgrounds.
  • Experience with DLP, SIEM, EDR, and UEBA technologies.
  • Awareness of information security principles, theories, techniques, practices, and procedures.
  • Uphold the highest integrity standards due to frequent exposure to sensitive information.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • CISSP and GCIH certifications are highly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Information:
Rotational on-call responsibilities are part of this role.
