Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Customer Service Manager to lead our Inside Sales team at SunSource. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and directing an efficient and high-performing inside sales department to achieve results desired by the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate Inside Sales personnel, and develop a comprehensive succession plan for the department.
  • Lead and manage the customer service team, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer experiences.
  • Directly involved with the Inside Sales effort, and contribute to the development of customer pricing matrices to maximize gross margin and/or increase sales.
  • Daily involvement with the customer service team to ensure on-time delivery and meet company goals.
  • Work with management and purchasing to maintain correct inventory levels to meet key customer requirements and prevent dead inventory.
  • Sell industrial hose and gasket products, maintain customer accounts, take orders over the phone and internet, and enter orders and product quotes into the computer system.
  • Emphasize salable features, quote prices and credit terms, and prepare sales orders for orders obtained.
  • Estimate delivery dates based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules and inventory.
  • Prepare reports of business transactions in the company database.
  • Work with account managers to keep account activities up to date.
  • Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned by your supervisor and be flexible and adaptable to changes that will occur during the course of employment.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of related experience and/or training in customer service.
  • High school or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing and supervising in a related industry.
  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience leading and developing individuals and teams.
  • Working knowledge of bottom-line business management with the proven ability to make sound business decisions, discuss and resolve problems.
  • Working knowledge of computers and business-related software.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English. Verbal Spanish skills are beneficial.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • This position works in an office/warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday.
