Job Summary: As a Radiologic Technologist at Bright Health, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians with diagnosing and treating disease and/or injury by operating X-ray equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Protect patients, yourself, and other staff from radiation hazards, adhering to established protocols.
  • Take X-rays following established procedures, implementing infection control measures and maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Position patients and take X-rays of specific body parts as requested by physicians, utilizing your knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Complete daily logs and forward them to radiologists for reading, as well as copy X-ray discs upon patient/physician request.
  • Maintain accurate records, including patient records and daily log books.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure X-ray units meet regulatory standards, and make minor adjustments as needed.
  • Comply with safety standards, clean, and maintain radiographic equipment, including determining equipment repairs and ordering supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including functioning as a medical assistant when required.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in radiological technology from an accredited program.
  • Current state X-Ray Technology certificate or license.
  • One to three years of experience as an X-ray technician, preferably in a medical practice environment.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registration preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Ability to lift and position patients, notice details, and read/write instructions.
  • Competency in using Microsoft Office and presenting information in one-on-one and small group settings.

Work Environment: Radiological unit, with occasional stress when working with anxious patients.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, squat, reach, twist, turn, kneel, and push/pull heavy equipment and transfer patients.
