About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at UNC Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine procedures and tests using radiology equipment to acquire patient diagnostic data.
- Prepare for and assist the radiologist in the completion of intricate radiographic procedures, including the preparation and administration of contrast media and medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Perform patient assessments and provide patient care, ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.
- Evaluate the appropriateness of examinations and assess the quality of radiographic images.
- Ensure that patient demographic, emulsion markers, and examination requests are accurate, and that all pertinent images are critiqued, oriented, and saved.
- Transmit QA-ed images to PACS, document completion and/or cancellation of all procedures in RIS, and maintain image management equipment.
- Utilize PACS and HIS systems to access additional study data and modify orders as necessary.
- Verify patient identity, obtain patient history relevant to examination orders, and assess patients' physical condition to determine the best course of action.
Requirements
- Associate's degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible and become registered within one (1) year from date of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
