Position Overview:

The Regional Vice President for Region 2 will report directly to the Chief Field Operations Officer for Area West. This pivotal role encompasses responsibilities as both the Regional Vice President and the Executive Director for the Northern California Northern Nevada chapter. The incumbent will spearhead the mission execution and strategic planning, focusing on fundraising, revenue generation, and expense management, while being accountable for the achievement of set objectives for Region 2, which includes three chapters: Northern California Northern Nevada, Aloha, and Desert Southwest. This position is essential in supporting the Association's strategic goals and guiding new initiatives across multiple chapters.

As Regional Vice President:

Lead the region in alignment with the Association's six strategic pillars: enhancing revenue, improving programs, advocating for public policy, promoting research, ensuring effective marketing and communications, and fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion. Drive revenue initiatives such as the Walk to End Alzheimer's and The Longest Day, among other Association events, to meet regional objectives. Oversee volunteer recruitment to ensure the necessary resources are available to fulfill regional goals. Collaborate with chapter executives to engage local healthcare leaders in promoting dementia care and identifying partnership opportunities. Act as a key representative for chapters within the region to achieve strategic outcomes. Supervise and mentor chapter executives, monitoring progress and providing strategic solutions. Ensure accountability for all financial and operational performance within the region. Review and authorize financial analyses for budget planning and significant expenditures. Collaborate across multiple chapters to achieve both short-term and long-term objectives. Influence a variety of stakeholders, including care providers, policymakers, and community leaders. Work with Area Leaders and peer Regional Leaders to cultivate external relationships that yield mutual benefits and share best practices. Support chapter leaders in planning and executing programs, policies, and services related to the Association's initiatives. Participate in the administration of Association policies, coordinating regional activities to meet growth targets. Analyze activities, costs, and operational data to assess regional progress toward established goals. Consult with the Area West Leader to set goals, review progress, and adjust objectives as necessary. Provide guidance on key projects and local initiatives.

As Executive Director:

Lead revenue initiatives including major fundraising events. Manage volunteer recruitment to ensure adequate resources for chapter objectives. Ensure excellence in local programming through evaluation and needs assessment. Build partnerships with government entities and corporate partners. Collaborate with neighboring chapters and organizations to advocate for beneficial public policy initiatives. Develop and coach a team to support annual chapter initiatives. Engage staff and volunteers in development efforts, overseeing all chapter programs. Manage advocacy efforts and serve as the local point of contact for public policy matters. Expand fundraising activities to support program operations. Oversee chapter budget management and daily operations. Serve as the primary spokesperson for the chapter.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or advanced degree in business, public health, or a related field is preferred. A minimum of 15 years of experience with progressive responsibility in managing budgets for programs and operations. At least five years of experience as an executive director within a large multi-chapter organization. In-depth knowledge of voluntary health associations and public policy initiatives. Proven track record in fundraising and revenue generation, with a history of significant year-over-year growth. Senior management experience in a large non-profit organization, including budget development. Experience in building relationships and collaborating across multiple levels. Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as needed.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentations. Ability to engage with executive teams and senior leaders. Proven problem-solving skills with a strategic and creative mindset. Strong project management capabilities with the ability to multitask effectively. Broad business perspective to align communication strategies with organizational goals. Knowledge of Alzheimer's and dementia, with the ability to translate knowledge into outreach efforts. Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop staff while managing budgets effectively.
