Position Overview

The role of the Senior Mechanical Engineer at V2X involves collaboration with both Government and Contractor engineers to execute tasks associated with the Facility Engineering Program.
Key Responsibilities

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with Government and Contractor engineers to fulfill the Facility Engineering Program requirements.
  • Utilizing 3D design software such as SolidWorks, Unigraphics, or Pro-E for modeling purposes.
  • Delivering expert engineering support for HVAC planning in Contractor-supported facilities.
  • Overseeing equipment in strategic, tactical, and mobile facilities or mission equipment shelters, both inside and outside secure zones.
  • Conducting testing and balancing services for air and water systems.
  • Evaluating engineering design proposals, drawings, specifications, and other technical documents, providing recommendations for enhancements.
  • Advising Government engineers on all facets of HVAC facility design, construction, operation, and maintenance.
  • Analyzing reports and studies to identify deficiencies and contribute to the planning of construction or redesign initiatives.
  • Employing appropriate software and hardware tools to monitor load changes and other design parameters.
  • Establishing energy and heat load budgets to identify current deficiencies and anticipate future needs.
  • Assessing and recommending load control methods, including remote and tele-metering techniques, to optimize utility demand and costs.
  • Preparing design concepts, program development materials, MILCON programming documents, cost estimates, economic analyses, and all necessary documentation for construction projects.
  • Inspecting construction projects or existing facilities to identify deficiencies, recommend modifications, and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Providing guidance and support to technicians in related fields.
  • Maintaining effective communication and technical liaison between on-site technicians and the Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
