Position Title: Afterschool Teacher Lead

ROLE SUMMARY
The Afterschool Teacher Lead will collaborate closely with the leadership team and play a pivotal role in the effectiveness of ElevatEd's afterschool initiatives. This individual is expected to establish a constructive educational atmosphere where students can thrive. Responsibilities include designing and executing engaging classes tailored to the diverse interests and skills of the educator. The position requires a commitment throughout the academic year, with a workload of up to 25 hours weekly.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Craft lesson plans and activities that align with the organization's philosophy and reflect the diverse backgrounds of the students.
  • Be attentive to the needs of children to promote their growth and curiosity safely.
  • Oversee student behavior in the classroom, implementing appropriate disciplinary measures when necessary.
  • Provide individualized tutoring support in specific subjects and general academic assistance.
  • Collaborate with fellow staff on lesson planning and curriculum development.

  • Maintain a clean and organized environment during programming sessions.
  • Demonstrate consistent attendance, as this role is vital to the program's success.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 2 years of experience in childcare or a related field, with the ability to plan suitable activities for various age groups.
  • A minimum of 48 college credits in Education or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in classroom and behavior management techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Physical capability to engage actively with children.
  • Availability to work a full shift consistently.

The compensation for this role begins at $23.29 per hour, accompanied by comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, and recognized holidays. This position is part of a union.
