About Education Unlimited:
Education Unlimited specializes in providing enriching academic summer camps and pre-college programs for students from grades 4 to 12. Our diverse offerings include public speaking workshops, college preparation courses, science-focused camps, acting classes, writing workshops, computer skills training, leadership development, video production, and educational tours.

Position Overview:
We are in search of enthusiastic and knowledgeable science educators to join our dynamic summer programs. Our camps are designed to be engaging and interactive, promoting a love for science through hands-on activities and collaborative learning.

Available Sessions:
Instructors may apply for multiple sessions based on their availability. Options for residential, online, and commuter participation are available, with accommodations and meals provided for in-person sessions.

Course Descriptions:

  • Marine Science: Dive into the mysteries of the ocean, exploring chemistry, oceanography, ecology, and marine biology. Students will engage in experiments, investigate marine life, and understand human impacts on ocean ecosystems.
  • Genetics: Focus on the principles of genetics, including the Central Dogma of Biology. Students will participate in hands-on activities, such as DNA extraction and model building, culminating in a presentation on heritable diseases.
  • Cardiology: Discover the intricacies of the cardiovascular system through interactive experiments and projects. Students will learn about heart function, disease impacts, and participate in dissections to deepen their understanding.

Responsibilities:
As an in-person Camp Instructor, you will:
  • Deliver the Education Unlimited curriculum effectively.
  • Supervise and engage with campers both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Organize and lead laboratory sessions and hands-on activities.
  • Facilitate a final showcase of student projects at the end of the camp.
  • Assist the camp director with supervision, recreational activities, and administrative tasks.

Instructors are expected to be mature, reliable, and capable of fostering a supportive learning environment. They will also serve as mentors, guiding students during field trips and excursions, while ensuring the health and safety of all participants.

Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will possess:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in science education or substantial subject matter expertise.
  • Experience working with middle or high school students in an educational context.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degrees are preferred.
  • A genuine passion for science education and mentorship.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
