Your Role:
As a Lead STEM Educator, you will play a crucial role in our mission. Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering dynamic, hands-on STEM activities at local elementary schools during afterschool or summer programs.
- Encouraging the development of the 6 C's: Curious, Committed, Confident, Careful, Creative, and Changemakers in your students.
- Tailoring your teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of individual students.
- Promoting social-emotional learning and embracing diversity within the classroom.
- Overseeing assistants and volunteers to ensure effective program delivery.
- Maintaining communication with families to keep them informed.
- Promoting events and initiatives among various stakeholders.
- Building positive relationships with school administrators.
- Assisting with the logistics of STEM supplies.
- Teaching at various locations during programming hours.
Additional Responsibilities:
In addition to teaching, you will also:
- Participate in team meetings and support program-related projects.
- Assist in organizing Family STEAM Nights to create engaging educational experiences for students and families.
- Support volunteer coordination to foster community involvement.
- Contribute to program-related events and marketing efforts.
Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Mandatory: A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 40 lbs and transport materials as needed.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in Education or a STEM-related field is preferred.
Experience:
At least one year of teaching experience, with a proven ability to connect with diverse students and create an inclusive learning environment.
Skills:
Strong classroom management, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to fostering a positive atmosphere are essential.
