YOUR ROLE

Shu Ren International School in Berkeley, CA is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic, Physical Education (PE) Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle among students. This role involves working with students across various age groups from preschool to grade 5 and fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.

ABOUT YOU

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead creative and age appropriate P.E. activities for a variety of grades and age levels
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers
  • Organize and maintain all P.E. materials and equipment
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students during all physical activities
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate physical education with other areas of the curriculum
  • Organize and participate in school sports events, competitions, and extracurricular activities
  • Promote a positive and inclusive environment where all students feel encouraged to participate

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field preferred
  • Valid teaching certification or license in physical education (preferred)
  • Previous experience teaching physical education, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of physical fitness, sports, and health education.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).
  • Mandarin fluency highly preferred
  • Fully vaccinated and up-to-date on all Covid-19 vaccinations for which you are eligible
  • Fluent in English (able to successfully attend workshops, read professional information and work collaboratively in the language.)
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future.
