The Role
The Chief of Pediatric Services will provide comprehensive leadership and strategic direction for the agency's pediatric programs, directly overseeing the directors of these services.

This role includes the responsibility for formulating and managing program budgets, ensuring that our offerings maintain the highest standards of quality, and engaging in continuous quality improvement efforts across all pediatric programs. Compliance with all licensing and certification standards is paramount.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safeguard the rights and dignity of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, extending these principles to their families and guardians.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and policies to ensure a secure environment for staff, clients, families, and visitors.
  • Commit to organizational quality initiatives by developing and participating in programs aimed at quality enhancement and team collaboration.
  • Supervise and guide staff in delivering high-quality support services, including conducting timely performance evaluations, managing employee relations, and overseeing hiring processes.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all activities in accordance with billing requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Assume overall accountability for the certification, licensing, and credentialing of all programs, in line with funder and regulatory requirements.
  • Represent the organization at external meetings and community events to elevate our community presence and reputation.
  • When necessary, engage in treatment planning and monitor progress towards established goals, billing time as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the CFO and CEO to develop, monitor, and ensure sound fiscal management of program budgets.
  • Explore and cultivate new, complementary business opportunities within the pediatric program sector.
  • Establish relationships with key academic institutions to develop a practical and relevant research program that benefits our clients.
  • Encourage interns and staff to foster a culture of critical thinking and service through research initiatives.
  • Maintain professional development through active participation in relevant organizations, conferences, and training sessions.
  • Design and host an annual professional conference focused on innovative practices in pediatric services.
  • Evaluate the overall program structure to enhance collaboration across disciplines, programs, and departments.
  • Follow all agency guidelines and department-specific policies as outlined in the personnel manual.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor in alignment with the organization's mission and objectives.

Internal/External Relationships
Internal: Collaborate with other organization members in areas of expertise.
External: Coordinate and lead meetings as necessary, and participate in interagency activities and statewide meetings as directed.

Working Conditions
The role involves working in natural settings, center-based, and home-based interventions, necessitating local travel. General office conditions apply, including the use of computers, telephones, and other office equipment. Frequent interaction with children and families is required.

Physical Requirements
Ability to perform essential job functions with reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities. The role requires dealing with a variety of individual and programmatic issues, including frequent sitting, standing, and walking. The ability to lift up to 30 pounds is necessary.

Qualifications
Education: A master's degree in a relevant field is required; a terminal degree or professional licensure is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 7 years in managing pediatric clinical programs is essential.
Skills: Experience working with children with diverse diagnoses, including intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. Current CPR and safety certifications are required. A valid driver's license, safe driving record, and access to a vehicle are necessary for transportation as needed.
