Position Overview
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) of VNA at Care New England is tasked with ensuring the seamless, effective, and efficient functioning of the VNA, delivering high-quality services that are financially viable, compliant with regulatory standards, and responsive to the needs of patients, their families, healthcare providers, and staff.

Public Representation
This role serves as the public face of Care New England, engaging with communities, health service organizations, and regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities
1. Cultivate and promote effective collaboration among VNA staff, Care New England Systems, physicians, and leadership.
2. Provide a cohesive approach to service delivery that aligns with the VNA's operational philosophy, mission, and core values.
3. Oversee the formulation of relevant policies and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and system standards.
4. Contribute to the strategic planning of the VNA, establishing both short-term and long-term objectives to support continued growth and community service provision. Implement approved plans and initiatives.

Clinical Coordination
Ensure that the clinical needs of patients in the Operating Units are met through effective coordination and collaboration with VNA staff and physicians.

Cost Management and Quality Care
In collaboration with the Kent Hospital President & CEO, act as a resource to optimize costs, enhance revenue, achieve operational integration, and ensure quality care for patients and their families.

Performance Accountability
Establish a disciplined framework of goals, expectations, and performance metrics that drive and reward employee performance.

Business Development
Devise innovative business strategies to expand market share and enhance overall performance.

Committee Engagement
Participate in essential committee meetings as required.

Qualifications
1. Proven leadership capabilities.
2. Advanced persuasion and negotiation skills.
3. Exceptional oral and written communication abilities, along with strong planning and organizational skills.
4. Comprehensive understanding of the current healthcare landscape.
5. Strong problem-solving and financial acumen, with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
6. A Master’s degree coupled with a minimum of ten years of experience in a leadership role within healthcare administration, demonstrating excellence in communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
