Position Summary: We are in search of a Chief Executive Officer for our Geriatric and Palliative Care Services to lead our initiatives in enhancing patient care through innovative practices and quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Clinical Leader for the Geriatric and Palliative Care service line across the CNE system.
  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight in clinical domains to develop and expand service offerings, establish protocols, and coordinate specialty-related activities in collaboration with clinical and administrative leaders.
  • Focus on four primary areas: service line planning and development, talent cultivation, educational initiatives for residents and fellows, and quality management.
  • Support Academic Chiefs and designated residency officers to maintain academic excellence, overseeing various academic rotations in partnership with the Departments of Medicine and Family Medicine.
  • Manage a unique role that integrates geriatrics and palliative care, including a faculty teaching position and oversight of a high-performing team comprising geriatricians, palliative care physicians, advanced practice providers, and licensed social workers.
  • Allocate 70% of time to clinical duties, including outpatient geriatric primary care and inpatient consultations, with 30% dedicated to administrative responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Board certification in Internal Medicine/Family Medicine and Geriatrics and/or Palliative Care.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership, advocacy, planning, and organizational capabilities.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience in co-management with palliative care and integration with surgical services.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving abilities, with a thorough understanding of best practices.
  • Experience in overseeing educational programs, with a track record of publications and teaching accolades preferred.
  • Familiarity with population health management and Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs).
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of innovation through academic excellence, nursing, and patient care.
  • Possession of an active and unrestricted medical license in the State of RI.
