Job Overview:

The Office of Court Administration (OCA) serves as a pivotal state agency within the Judicial Branch, operating under the guidance of the Supreme Court of Texas. Our mission is to enhance the efficiency of the Judicial Branch by providing essential resources and information.

Position Summary:

The License and Permit Specialist III is responsible for executing advanced licensing and permitting tasks. This role involves:

  • Reviewing and assessing applications for certifications, registrations, and licenses, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and statutes.
  • Maintaining accurate records associated with licensing activities and facilitating timely processing of applications.
  • Preparing correspondence and reports related to licensing and registration processes.
  • Providing information regarding program laws and policies to the public and government officials.
  • Responding to inquiries about regulations and procedures, conducting necessary research.
  • Assisting with customer service through phone and email communications.
  • Administering certification exams, including serving as a proctor and registrar.
  • Contributing to the development and updates of division forms and publications.
  • Conducting background checks for applicants and maintaining guardianship registrations.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • A degree from an accredited four-year institution or equivalent experience.
  • Two years of additional experience in administrative support or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a regulatory environment.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to interpret and explain agency laws and procedures clearly.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of office practices and administrative procedures.
  • Proficient in using standard office equipment and software.
  • Effective communication skills for public inquiries and administrative procedures.
