Job Purpose:

• This position is focused on the creation of products that align with both Sanden's and client specifications.

• Responsibilities encompass the development, design, testing, and documentation of HVAC/system components (HVAC/HX/ITMS) utilizing engineering principles.

• The role also involves mentoring fellow engineers and staff members.

• Additional duties include providing technical assistance for manufacturing-related projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive product development initiatives by meeting technical objectives.

• Utilize PDCA methodology to fulfill product development tasks and goals.

• Formulate engineering solutions for suppliers and cross-functional teams to address necessary requirements.

• Create laboratory testing protocols and apparatus.

• Mentor and guide engineers and other personnel based on specialized knowledge.

• Accomplish departmental objectives for product development.

• Innovate new product design concepts.

• Facilitate consensus on designs by resolving global technical challenges.

• Provide coaching for engineers and staff to foster growth in Design Engineering.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with various Sanden locations to maintain design consistency.

• Offer technical support to internal stakeholders.

• Conduct feasibility assessments for new product configurations.

• Participate in project teams as an engineering expert.

• Undertake other projects as assigned by management.

• Independently generate engineering reports.

• Prepare technical presentation materials for both internal and external stakeholders as required.

• Ensure adherence to company Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and regulations, contributing to the effectiveness of these protocols by reporting unsafe conditions or non-compliance.

Qualifications:

Education:
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (preferably in Mechanical Engineering)

Experience and Skills:
  • Minimum of 5 years in automotive application design, with a focus on HVAC/system components (HVAC/HX/ITMS), along with knowledge of Vehicle & HVAC/HVAC System Testing.
  • Familiarity with FEA/CFD analysis.
  • Understanding of electric vehicle thermal management systems.
  • Proficient in current computer technologies and applications, including CAD, CAE, and MS Office.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills for engaging with internal and external clients.
  • Knowledge of IATF-16949 and ISO-14001 standards.
  • Hands-on experience with vehicles and testing equipment.
Certifications:
• EPA-608 and EPA-609 certifications are preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to routinely lift loads of 25 lbs (HVAC components).
  • Potential exposure to elevated noise levels.
  • Possible contact with chemicals (oils, refrigerants, solvents).
  • Exposure to varying environmental temperatures.
  • Capability to perform effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks efficiently.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
• PPE may be necessary depending on specific project requirements.

Work Environment:
• The primary workspace includes both an office and laboratory setting.
• Standard office hours are expected, with additional support required during evenings and weekends as necessary.

Travel Expectations:
• Minimal domestic travel (0 - 10%) and limited international travel (0 - 5%).
