Key Responsibilities:
• Drive product development by meeting established technical objectives.
• Utilize PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) methodology to accomplish technical tasks in product development.
• Create engineering solutions for suppliers and cross-functional teams to fulfill necessary requirements.
• Design and implement laboratory testing methods and equipment.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to engineers and staff based on specialized knowledge.
• Ensure the achievement of departmental goals and plans for product development.
• Innovate new product designs and concepts.
• Facilitate consensus on designs by addressing technical challenges on a global scale.
• Mentor engineers and staff to foster growth in Design Engineering expertise.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with various Sanden locations to maintain consistency in product designs.
• Offer technical support to internal stakeholders.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new product configurations.
• Participate in project teams as an engineering expert.
• Undertake other projects as directed by management.
• Independently generate engineering reports.
• Prepare technical presentation materials for both internal and external stakeholders as required.
• Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures, and report any unsafe conditions or non-compliance.

Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (preferably Mechanical Engineering)
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years in automotive application design, particularly in HVAC and system components, along with knowledge of vehicle and HVAC system testing.
- Familiarity with FEA and CFD analysis.
- Understanding of electric vehicle thermal management systems.
- Proficient in current computer technologies and applications, including CAD, CAE, and MS Office.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills for both internal and external audiences.
- Knowledge of IATF-16949 and ISO-14001 standards.
- Hands-on experience with vehicles and testing equipment.
• EPA-608 and EPA-609 certifications are preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift loads of up to 25 lbs. (related to HVAC).
- Potential exposure to high noise levels.
- Possible exposure to chemicals such as oils, refrigerants, and solvents.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks.
• Primarily office and laboratory settings.
• Flexibility to work outside of normal hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary.
Travel:
• Minimal domestic and international travel may be required.
