Role Definition
The Mechanical Product Engineer will engage in engineering tasks that support:

  1. Design and enhancement of current products.
  2. Creation of innovative new products.
  3. Compliance with regulatory standards through sound engineering practices.

Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and demonstrate proficiency in both 2D and 3D CAD software. A foundational understanding of engineering calculations and analytical tools such as FMEA, DOE, and Design for Six Sigma is essential.

Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Articulating the value and technical details of our products effectively.
  • Engaging with customers to gather insights and qualify potential leads.
  • Coordinating timely and cost-effective responses to customer inquiries and technical issues.
  • Supporting project management from initial concept through to product launch.
  • Utilizing research data and engineering principles to assist in product design, including fluid handling devices and associated components.
  • Collaborating with manufacturing and sales teams to select appropriate materials and processes.
  • Developing comprehensive documentation, including bills of material and assembly diagrams.
  • Conducting product verification prior to manufacturing release.
  • Providing operational support to resolve production issues and ensure product quality.
  • Evaluating returned products and recommending corrective actions as necessary.

Collaboration and Support
Work closely with Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Quality teams to propose product improvements that enhance aftermarket opportunities and drive cost reduction initiatives.

Qualifications
Required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in both 2D and 3D CAD systems.
  • Understanding of mechanical concepts and engineering calculations.
  • Familiarity with the NPD stage gate process and ASME code.
  • Experience in the power or piping industry is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

Physical and Technical Environment
This role may involve minimal lifting and requires the ability to navigate a multi-floor office and shop environment.
