Position Summary
The Project Engineer plays a pivotal role in the engineering project delivery process, managing projects typically valued between $15M and $50M. While our primary focus is on water and wastewater treatment and conveyance, project assignments may also encompass solid waste management and other specialized tasks as required.

This position is ideal for engineering or construction professionals with over five years of experience who are eager to advance their careers by overseeing projects from initial concept through to construction completion.

The Project Engineer operates under the guidance of an Engineering Program Manager and is crucial to our organization, leading the execution of the majority of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the project manager for the design and construction of significant water and wastewater initiatives.
- Review design plans and specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain comprehensive project records, including correspondence, reports, design documents, schedules, and cost updates.
- Participate in design review meetings and construction progress discussions.
- Oversee project delivery with a focus on adhering to schedules and controlling costs.
- Coordinate project impacts with Operations and assist with facility shutdowns and tie-ins.
- Manage project completion, including start-up, testing, commissioning, and review of final record drawings.
- Lead special projects and studies as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with scheduling, modeling software, and design platforms such as AutoCAD is preferred.

Education and Experience
A degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution is required. Candidates should possess a Professional Engineering registration in Texas or the ability to obtain it within 12 months of hire, along with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the design or construction management of water and wastewater infrastructure.

Experience in water/wastewater processes, treatment, pumping, collection, and transmission pipeline design and construction is essential, as is electrical experience with medium and low voltage systems. Proficiency in engineering design and project management software is also required.

Work Environment
This role involves moderate physical labor and significant mental focus, with potential exposure to varying environmental conditions during site visits. A considerable amount of time will be spent working on computers, reviewing plans, specifications, and reports. Fieldwork may require traversing rough terrain and climbing to access structures. Equipment utilized includes calculators, computers, and field survey tools.
