Position Summary:

We are in search of a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide exceptional respiratory care. As an essential member of the healthcare team, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-focused respiratory services. Your role will include performing diagnostic assessments, executing therapeutic procedures, and monitoring patients who require both invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, all while adhering to departmental standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and document comprehensive patient assessments, including evaluation of breath sounds, airway integrity, and cuff pressure.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations to determine the necessity for and effectiveness of respiratory therapy.
  • Administer various respiratory care treatments, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist in the placement of artificial airways and oversee the initiation, monitoring, and maintenance of mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient reactions to therapies and take appropriate action in response to any adverse reactions.
  • Support the safe transportation of patients dependent on ventilatory support.
  • Act swiftly in emergency situations to ensure airway management and adequate ventilation during resuscitation efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (experience in acute care, LTAC, or similar environments is acceptable).
  • Education: Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
  • Licensure: Must hold a valid state license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
  • Certifications:
  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) within 30 days of employment.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 30 days of employment.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 30 days of employment.
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) within 60 days of employment.
