This position plays a vital role in supporting the U.S.
Department of Veterans Affairs by conducting thorough assessments for Veterans transitioning from military service or seeking disability benefits.
Utilizing your expertise in the evaluation and diagnosis of auditory conditions, you will assist in substantiating a Veteran's disability claim through the collection and analysis of clinical evidence, including medical and military record reviews, interviews with Veterans, and in-person examinations.
Your professional judgment will help determine the connection between the Veteran's condition and their military service, ensuring that their claims are processed efficiently and effectively by the VA.Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and interpret diagnostic assessments, including audiometric evaluations.
- Calibrate equipment, prepare relevant reports, and maintain the audiological suite, materials, and supplies.
- Examine patients with ear-related conditions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as necessary.
- Adhere to all medical laws, guidelines, regulations, and standards.
- Assist organizations in enhancing accessibility.
Qualifications:
- Doctorate Degree in Audiology (AuD), Master’s Degree in Audiology (MA), or Master of Science Degree in Audiology (MS).
- An active and unrestricted license in the state where examinations are conducted.
- Preferred: 1 year of experience in the Audiology field.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Audiologist License (Required)
- Board certification from the American Board of Audiology (Required)
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in one or more major Electronic Health Records systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams).
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks.
- Demonstrated reliability and a strong professional work ethic.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a knack for analyzing situations and identifying potential issues.
- Proven capacity to build and maintain significant relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Capable of meeting deadlines and adapting to shifting priorities.
Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM (4, 8, or 10-hour shifts).
- No weekends or holidays.
