Position Summary:

We are in search of a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to enhance our patient care team. As an essential member of the healthcare staff, the Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for coordinating and providing high-quality, patient-focused respiratory care. This role involves conducting diagnostic assessments, implementing therapeutic interventions, and monitoring patients on both invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, all while adhering to departmental standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and document thorough patient evaluations, including assessment of breath sounds, airway integrity, and cuff pressure.
  • Perform diagnostic tests to determine the necessity for and effectiveness of respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory treatments, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist in the placement of artificial airways and manage mechanical ventilation processes.
  • Monitor patient reactions to treatments and take appropriate action in case of adverse responses.
  • Support the safe transportation of patients requiring ventilatory assistance.
  • Act promptly in emergency situations to maintain airway safety and ensure adequate ventilation during resuscitation efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (experience in acute care, LTAC, or similar environments is acceptable).
  • Education: Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
  • Licensure: Valid state license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
  • Certifications:
  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) within 30 days of employment.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 30 days of employment.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 30 days of employment.
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) within 60 days of employment.
