ROLE OVERVIEW

Our Facility Maintenance Attendants play a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of our client sites by performing daily cleaning and restocking of all facility areas (including patient rooms, offices), restrooms, lounges, waiting areas, and other designated spaces. Encompass Onsite Facility Maintenance Attendants utilize cleaning tools, products, and equipment to execute their responsibilities at the highest standard, ensuring a pristine environment for guests, patients, and staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate mechanized cleaning devices, such as vacuums.
  • Maintain the facility in a hygienic and infection-free state through washing, cleaning, and replacing equipment and furnishings.
  • Prepare for a work environment that may be dirty, damp, or dusty before completing assigned tasks.
  • Dispose of trash, waste, and other materials appropriately.
  • Handle cleaning solvents, chemicals, and disinfectants while adhering to all regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and State Health Department guidelines.
  • Follow assigned job tasks diligently.
  • Damp dust furniture, light fixtures, windowsills, and similar surfaces.
  • Wet mop floors as required.
  • Clean wash basins, mirrors, toilets, showers, and air vents.
  • Report any necessary repairs to the supervisor immediately (such as leaking faucets, loose tiles, broken windows, or missing hardware).
  • Wash windows according to the established schedule.
  • Monitor areas for spills and clean them promptly to prevent potential accidents.
  • Keep housekeeping equipment and utility closets organized and clean.
  • Perform routine cleaning in offices and/or classrooms, ensuring daily cleanliness of washbasins, mirrors, toilets, tubs, and showers.
  • Complete other assigned duties as necessary.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills are essential.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and the public.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Prior experience in housekeeping is advantageous.
  • Experience with solid surface (resilient floor) maintenance is preferred.
  • A valid Florida Driver's license is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • This role requires good physical and mental health.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull, and move continuously throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry 25 to 45 pounds regularly.
SUPERVISION
  • General supervision is provided by a professional supervisor who assists with complex issues and reviews completed work for quality assurance. Tasks are performed with minimal direct oversight, allowing for independent judgment.
SUPERVISION OF OTHERS
  • This position does not involve supervising others.
