Position Overview

Are you a seasoned Grant Specialist seeking a distinctive opportunity to advance within an environmental state agency?

This role is part of TCEQ's efficient General Law RESTORE team, dedicated to the mission of safeguarding public health and natural resources in Texas.

Telework Opportunity

This position allows for remote work, provided it is within a reasonable commuting distance of TCEQ's Austin headquarters or a coastal regional office. In-person attendance will be necessary for meetings and collaborative activities.

Future Team Dynamics

Within TCEQ Legal Services, you will contribute to the agency's Resources and Ecosystem Sustainability, Tourist Opportunities, and Revived Economies (RESTORE) program. This initiative allocates federal funding to support entities along the Texas coast in mitigating the impacts of environmental disasters.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience in coordinating, monitoring, and administering federal grant programs and budgets.
  • Background in managing construction projects in coastal environments.
  • Knowledge in Coastal and Marine Sciences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute advanced grant development, coordination, and administration tasks. Supervise the preparation, coordination, review, maintenance, and reporting of RESTORE grants, ensuring compliance with state and federal standards.
  • Lead activities related to federal grant requirements for coastal projects, including overseeing grant applications, contracts, work plans, and amendments.
  • Facilitate the development and execution of program objectives with internal and external stakeholders to secure RESTORE funding.
  • Ensure organized record-keeping for audit readiness and compliance with grant contracts and federal regulations.
  • Provide guidance on grant administration policies and assist staff with project-related challenges.
  • Act as a liaison between the agency and grant funding sources, attending meetings and resolving issues as necessary.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Experience in program administration relevant to the assignment Or

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in a relevant field.
