Position Summary: The Underwriting Assistant plays a crucial role within the Regional Support Team (RST), directly reporting to the Regional Operations Leader or their delegate. This hybrid role offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $20.00 to $26.00 and allows for work from designated offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for assigned tasks.
  • Oversee the internal 59-day list and assist both Underwriting and Accounting teams with system corrections and offsets.
  • Manage policy documentation and inquiries related to surplus lines tax filings, collaborating with the Divisional Tax Team for necessary state forms and escalations.
  • Conduct audits for taxes within the management system.
  • Provide closed event audits to agency partners.
  • Facilitate carrier reconciliation by processing system corrections, including commission and market provider adjustments.
  • Handle direct bill invoicing within the management system.
  • Process AOR/BOR requests as needed.
  • Manage renewal solicitations and reconcile binding subjectivities and requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exemplary telephone etiquette.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar administrative support role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • California Property & Casualty State License.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in a business or finance-related field.
