Experience Requirements:No prior experience necessary.
Licensure/Certification:Must possess licensure from the Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care upon hire; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care is required within six months of employment.
Physical Demands:This role necessitates prolonged periods of sitting at a workstation, standing or walking while handling objects weighing up to 10 pounds, and lifting, pushing, or pulling items weighing 50 pounds or more. The position may also involve standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds, performing repetitive tasks such as typing, and occasionally working at heights or in confined spaces. Additionally, there may be exposure to risks associated with patient handling, hazardous materials, and potential injuries.
Work Schedule:Availability to work three 12.5-hour shifts weekly (7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.) is required, along with some weekend and holiday shifts.
Job Overview:Albert B. Chandler Hospital is recognized as the leading hospital in Kentucky and the Bluegrass Region, as per U.S. News & World Report's Best Hospitals Rankings. The facility features a modern 569-bed teaching hospital, inclusive of over 100 ICU beds across various service lines. Chandler is home to the only Level 1 trauma center in the region and hosts the Markey Cancer Center, designated by the National Cancer Institute. This position offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates, allowing respiratory therapists to provide a wide array of services within their professional scope.
Compensation:The starting hourly wage for this position has been updated to a minimum of $30.00/hour, with all pay rates determined by the candidate's experience.
Essential Skills:The ideal candidate will possess experience in patient care, strong computer proficiency, and outstanding communication abilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities:This position does not entail supervisory duties.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
