Location: Lexington, KY

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (1 weekday per week after-hours call; 9 weekends and 1 holiday per year)

Key Responsibilities:
The APRN is expected to exemplify and advocate for advanced nursing practice and superior patient care. Responsibilities include:
  • Delivering direct patient care and assessing patient outcomes.
  • Establishing and evaluating practice standards.
  • Providing consultation to nursing staff.
  • Maintaining professional knowledge and skills as an expert in advanced nursing practice.
  • Collaborating closely with BCN physicians through established palliative symptom management protocols.
  • Assisting in the development of care plans for patients, families, and caregivers in accordance with physician directives and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing with APRN certification as a Family or Adult Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current APRN licensure through the State Board of Nursing.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of general nursing experience; clinical experience in a nursing facility is preferred.
  • Proficient in nursing practice, with the ability to manage family emotional stress and respect diverse lifestyles.
  • Committed to research and its application in practice.
  • Strong organizational skills and resource management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Understanding of systems and change processes.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities effectively while handling emotional stress.
  • Adherence to accepted professional standards and principles.
  • Understanding of BCN's philosophy regarding death and dying.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Positive references from nursing school, previous employers, and/or professional peers.
  • Strong observational skills, sound nursing judgment, and effective communication skills, with timely written documentation.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work independently.
  • Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligations, with the ability to work within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have a properly insured vehicle in good working condition.
  • Compliance with BCN's Employee Health, infectious disease, and vaccination policies is required.
Salary Range:
$93,534-$124,712 per year
