Overview:

The Senior Vice President of Cardiac Operations plays a pivotal role within the Heart & Vascular Service Line, contributing to the strategic direction and operational excellence of the organization.


Reporting Structure:

This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President and serves as a key leader within the Heart & Vascular Service Line.


Required Qualifications:

A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related discipline is essential. A clinical background is also advantageous.

Applicants should possess a minimum of ten years of progressive management experience in cardiovascular services or medical practice management, focusing on program development, financial oversight, and performance enhancement.

Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality services and achieving the organization’s mission is required.

Proven experience in strategic planning and operational efficiency is essential.

Exceptional communication, presentation, and facilitation skills are necessary to effectively engage a diverse range of stakeholders.

Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities are required to assess and implement strategic initiatives and recommend necessary changes.


Key Responsibilities:

Act as a subject matter expert on current trends and challenges in cardiac service lines.

Plan, organize, direct, and assess the operations of the service line to support strategic objectives.

Oversee the development of an integrated reporting framework for operational areas and leadership groups.

Transform financial, operational, and administrative data into actionable strategic insights and business plans.

Lead initiatives to enhance cardiac care coordination across the system, improving connectivity with hospitals, specialists, and ancillary services while identifying and removing access barriers.

Direct and manage informatics related to service line strategy across financial, quality, and clinical committees.

Foster a collaborative environment that encourages open communication, transparency, and innovative problem-solving.

Assist in developing and implementing performance metrics for providers and practices that align with value-based care models.

Enhance overall cardiovascular market share and service mix.

Identify and capitalize on opportunities for process improvements, growth, and development.

Provide regular performance reports to senior executives regarding service line outcomes.

Collaborate with hospital, medical group, and physician leadership to ensure program objectives and quality services are upheld.

Ensure the financial viability of the service line, including billing, collections, payer contracting, productivity, denial management, and expense oversight.

Support regulatory compliance and accreditation efforts.

Contribute to the development of a workforce plan for physicians and advanced practice providers, aligning resources with market and service strategies.

Optimize service capacity and productivity to enhance patient access, experience, and retention.

Monitor and improve patient service retention levels across the health system.

Oversee the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets.
