Position Overview

Applewood is currently seeking a skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiac Services or with a background in ICU/CCU nursing. Candidates must possess experience in one of the specified areas to qualify.

This is a Full-Time position with 10-hour shifts, typically scheduled Monday through Friday. The role includes a rotating on-call schedule every 4-6 weeks, with Saturday hours dedicated to Stress Testing from 10 AM to 3 PM.

This is a unique opportunity for a full-time role, and we are in the process of interviewing qualified candidates.

The Registered Nurse will provide nursing care to assigned patients in alignment with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and established policies and procedures.

  • Assists physicians by monitoring patients during cardiac testing procedures.
  • Identifies adverse reactions to medications and takes prompt and appropriate actions.
  • Recognizes changes in patient conditions and/or emergency situations, responding with immediate and suitable actions.
  • Promotes healthy lifestyle changes through patient education.
  • Educates patients on cardiac disease processes and introduces rehabilitation recovery plans.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts comprehensive nursing assessments and maintains consistent communication regarding patient status.
  • Analyzes health data to determine nursing diagnoses and necessary interventions.
  • Identifies patient needs and formulates nursing diagnoses based on a holistic approach.
  • Involves patients and families in developing individualized care plans.
  • Administers medications according to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Responds effectively to medication variances.
  • Engages in ongoing professional development and practice enhancement.
  • Participates in unit meetings to address quality improvement initiatives.
  • Delegates appropriate care tasks to non-professional staff as necessary.
  • Utilizes sound judgment in clinical decision-making.
  • Provides interventions for pain management and documents assessments and outcomes.
  • Educates patients and families about cardiac risk factors and rehabilitation strategies.
  • Oversees daily operations of cardiac rehabilitation services.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Establishes care standards based on evidence-based practices and evaluates care delivery.
  • Acts as a role model to enhance nursing practices within the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in telemetry or critical care settings.
  • Valid RN License in New Jersey required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
  • Specialty certification in cardiac rehabilitation is required or must be obtained within two years of hire.
