Human Resources Specialist

Key Responsibilities
- Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and optional training, continuing education, and work assessments, including safety and anti-harassment training.
- Collaborate closely with the Talent Acquisition team to facilitate recruitment efforts.
- Conduct background checks and verify employee eligibility.
- Assist with payroll processing on a bi-monthly basis.
- Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition initiatives.
- Execute routine tasks necessary for administering HR programs, including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, and performance management.
- Address employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex issues as needed.
- Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, reviewing policies to maintain adherence.
- Stay informed about trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR and employment law.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively.
- Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Thorough understanding of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Experience with HRIS and talent management systems is a plus.
- At least one year of experience in human resource management or payroll is preferred.
- Experience in the medical or mental health field is advantageous.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to navigate various departments within the organization.
