Respiratory Care Specialist (Part-Time)
Location: South Portland, Maine
Overview: KMA Human Resources Consulting is collaborating with a reputable healthcare provider in the search for a part-time Respiratory Care Specialist to join their team in South Portland.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in a relevant field.
- Preferred credentialing by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Certified or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT or RPFT).
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential is advantageous but not mandatory. If RRT, an active State of Maine license is required.
- In-depth understanding of pulmonary function testing and laboratory protocols.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in pulmonary function testing is preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support certification.
- Availability to work on-site Monday through Friday in South Portland, Maine, with no evening or weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities:
- Measure vital signs and collect arterial blood gas samples.
- Conduct a variety of pulmonary function tests, including spirometry with bronchodilator, plethysmography, diffusing capacity, and more.
- Document all testing and patient care activities in the electronic medical record system.
- Prepare, maintain, and calibrate testing equipment.
- Oversee the operations of the Pulmonary Function Testing Lab.
- Ensure adherence to quality control standards.
- Complete necessary preventative maintenance tasks.
- Follow manufacturer guidelines for troubleshooting and repairs, as well as manage supply orders.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and safeguard practice operations.
- Ensure a safe and hygienic working environment by adhering to established procedures and regulations.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
