Role Summary:

The Media Insights Specialist will play a crucial role in media analysis, communication strategies, international relations, market intelligence, and related fields.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance proficiency in research and analytical software tools.
  • Conduct comprehensive research, gather pertinent data, evaluate information, interpret findings, and prepare reports utilizing diverse research methodologies.
  • Uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct, customer service, and respect for workplace diversity.
  • Deliver real-time analytical reports on specific issues and media coverage.
  • Research, monitor, analyze, and provide insights to leadership on emerging trends in social media tools and techniques.
  • Generate regular reports summarizing messaging across Joint Staff Social Media platforms, as well as platform-specific reports to assess message effectiveness.
  • Assist the Social Media Lead with curating and posting content on designated official platforms.
  • Support content moderation and flag/report comments that breach engagement guidelines.
  • Provide staffing support as directed by senior officials and spokespersons.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, with a focus in relevant fields.
  • 4+ years of demonstrated experience in media analysis, communications, international relations, market research, or similar areas.
  • Experience may be a combination of academic and professional background.
  • Secret DoD clearance is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to identify key trends and articulate findings through concise reports and presentations.
  • Proficient in conducting media analysis, synthesizing information, and reporting on domestic and international media coverage related to DoD policies.
  • Familiarity with the structure, functions, and major policies of the DoD and Joint Staff.
  • Capable of working effectively under tight deadlines, both independently and as part of a collaborative research team.
  • Proficient in applying software tools for ongoing and immediate research and analysis.
