About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales and Logistics Executive III to join our team at American President Lines. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for establishing relationships with new customers and securing contracts, driving the entire sales cycle from initial engagement to closed sales, and building and maintaining a healthy sales pipeline to meet or exceed sales targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish relationships with new customers and secure contracts
  • Drive the entire sales cycle from initial engagement to closed sales
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline to meet or exceed sales targets
  • Prospect for potential customers using various methods such as calling, face-to-face meetings, and networking
  • Provide forecasts on best case and most likely sales volumes over relevant time periods
  • Give sales presentations and submit activity and results reports to leadership
  • Develop and maintain functional knowledge of the products, services, and operations offered by the company
  • Interact regularly with station and operations managers to ensure customer needs are met
  • Schedule and conduct a pre-determined number of face-to-face sales visits as directed by management
  • Input sales call information into the sales data system and provide sales reports as directed
  • Maintain a pre-determined number of target accounts and demonstrate active attention to those accounts
  • Meet or exceed sales threshold/quota as defined by the company
  • Work cooperatively with other sales and operational staff to support a team-selling environment
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Logistics, transportation, supply chain knowledge +5 years
  • Will accept 10+ years experience in lieu of bachelor's degree in sales in transportation
  • Minimum five years related experience in sales required; Outside Business to Business (B2B) Sales experience with demonstrated history of sales achievements in a base plus commission environment
  • Will consider candidates shifting from operations, account management, or customer service in logistics, transportation, supply chain to sales
Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint) and web-based applications
  • Ability to generate complex, error-free charts, graphs, spreadsheets, and presentations
