Atrium Health Pineville has been a cornerstone of healthcare in South Charlotte since its inception in 1987. Our facility has grown significantly, expanding our services to cater to the evolving needs of our community. From a modest hospital on former farmland, we have transformed into a comprehensive healthcare center, providing advanced medical care unmatched in the region.

Our operating room boasts 12 state-of-the-art surgical suites, where we conduct a variety of procedures including general surgery, orthopedics, OBGYN, urology, vascular, neuro/spine, robotics, cardiothoracic, ENT, and plastic surgeries. We foster a collaborative environment that emphasizes teamwork and a positive workplace culture.

Position Summary

The RN Clinical Nurse I is responsible for delivering professional nursing care through comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, in alignment with facility policies and protocols, under the guidance of nursing leadership. This role includes ensuring a safe work environment and executing all responsibilities in a secure manner while maintaining clinical and professional competency relevant to the patient population served.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze data relevant to the patient's health or situation to identify actual or potential diagnoses and issues.
  • Establish expected outcomes tailored to the healthcare consumer's individual needs.
  • Formulate a strategic plan to achieve measurable outcomes.
  • Execute the plan, coordinating care delivery while promoting health and safety.
  • Delegate care tasks to appropriate healthcare personnel in accordance with legal and policy guidelines.
  • Assess progress towards achieving goals and outcomes.
  • Practice in a manner that respects cultural diversity and inclusion.
  • Communicate effectively across all areas of nursing practice.
  • Collaborate with patients and key stakeholders in nursing practice.

Physical Requirements
This role requires physical activities such as walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. The ability to lift and support weights up to 35 pounds is essential for handling patients and medical equipment. Proficiency in English communication is necessary. Candidates must possess intact sensory abilities and demonstrate critical thinking skills. Quick responsiveness to changes in patient or unit conditions is crucial. Physical Abilities Testing is a requirement.

Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is mandatory. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Current Basic Life Support certification is required as per policy guidelines. A valid RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state of practice is essential, with compliance to National License Compact (NLC) regulations if applicable.
