Overview
The Pediatric Satellite Team provides supplemental staffing across Atrium Health's pediatric facilities. Registered Nurses primarily support general pediatric medical-surgical units, with opportunities for cross-training in specialized areas such as Emergency Department, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Care, and Progressive Care, along with obtaining chemotherapy certification.

Candidates should possess a minimum of 6 months of nursing experience, as this role is not intended for new graduates.

Job Summary
The RN Clinical Nurse I delivers professional nursing care through comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with established policies and procedures under the guidance of nursing leadership. This role involves maintaining a safe work environment and performing all job responsibilities safely while ensuring clinical and professional competency relevant to the patient population served.

Essential Functions
  • Collects relevant data regarding the healthcare consumer's health or situation and analyzes this data to identify actual or potential diagnoses, problems, and issues.
  • Establishes expected outcomes for a personalized care plan.
  • Develops a strategic plan to achieve measurable outcomes.
  • Implements the care plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and safety.
  • Delegates care responsibilities to appropriate healthcare personnel in accordance with legal and policy guidelines.
  • Evaluates progress towards achieving goals and outcomes.
  • Practices in alignment with principles of cultural diversity and inclusion.
  • Communicates effectively across all areas of practice.
  • Collaborates with healthcare consumers and key stakeholders in nursing practice.

Physical Requirements
The role requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Must be capable of lifting and supporting the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients and medical equipment. Proficiency in English communication is essential. The role demands intact sensory functions and finger dexterity, along with critical thinking and the ability to respond swiftly to changes in patient conditions.

Education, Experience, and Certifications
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited School of Nursing, with a preference for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Current Basic Life Support certification is required. A valid RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the relevant state is mandatory.
