Pay Range: $19.50/hr. (depends on experience)

The Medication Administration Specialist is tasked with overseeing and assisting in the administration of medications to residents as prescribed and in alignment with established nursing standards, policies, procedures, and practices of the organization. Furthermore, the Medication Administration Specialist will provide direct personal care, motivate residents to engage in activities, and collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance staff in accordance with the organization's mission, vision, and values.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and distribute medications to residents. Coordinate medication services with residents, pharmacies, and physicians. Order and monitor all medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies. Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident medication and care records. Ensure a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, adhering to established safety standards. Promote teamwork through cooperative interactions with colleagues and other departments.

Required Qualifications:

Prefer one (1) year of experience assisting with medication in a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE). Must be at least 18 years of age. A high school diploma or equivalent; a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is a plus. Proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.) Excellent customer service skills. Strong desire to work with the elderly and address their needs. Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families. Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests. For the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Senior Living may require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
