About the Role

Aging Services of North Central Massachusetts is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Protective Services Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the dignity, safety, and respect of our elderly clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough investigations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of older adults, and provide ongoing case work to protective services clients.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive Service Plans that address the unique needs of each client, including medical, legal, housing, and in-home care services.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expert consultation to staff and community agencies on protective services cases.
  • Participate in an on-call team to respond to client needs outside of regular working hours.
Requirements
  • A master's or higher degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field, such as social work, psychology, or gerontology, and at least one year of experience in counseling, casework, or case management, preferably in a protective services or crisis intervention role.
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field, and at least two years of experience in counseling, casework, or case management, providing protective or crisis intervention services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of medical, mental health, and social service delivery systems, as well as acceptable record-keeping practices.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong emphasis on customer service and client satisfaction. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team setting, with a high level of autonomy and independence. The position involves regular travel to client homes and community locations, as well as occasional evening and weekend work.

A valid driver's license and a registered motor vehicle are required for this role. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a thorough background check and provide proof of insurance.
