POSITION OVERVIEW:


The Mortgage Lending Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting our esteemed clients in achieving their homeownership goals.

This specialist will engage with each client, utilizing Fidelity Cooperative Bank's C.A.R.E. Process to tailor lending solutions that align with their home financing requirements.


Our Mortgage Lending Specialist will originate first and second mortgage loans and facilitate mortgage and home equity line/loan applications for the Bank, employing the LifeDesign Banking approach to provide Clarity, enabling each client to proceed with Confidence.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific accountabilities:

  • Delivers exceptional client service in a positive, courteous, and enthusiastic manner to colleagues, clients, and the community.
  • Develops and executes a comprehensive business development strategy involving realtors, CPAs, attorneys, brokers, personal referrals, etc. Regularly visits realtors and acts as a liaison between vendors and the Bank.
  • Maintains an in-depth understanding of all Bank loan products, services, policies, and procedures. Ensures adherence to all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Conducts interviews with applicants and processes mortgage applications. Remains available for meetings at designated Banking Centers. Gathers all necessary documentation and fees for efficient processing.
  • Communicates with vendors and applicants regarding the status of applications in progress.
  • Keeps and submits a weekly log of activities, including real estate offices visited, broker meetings, applications processed, and other pertinent information.
  • Represents the Bank at Board of Realtor meetings. Participates in mortgage programs and seminars, enhancing the Bank's visibility and reputation in the real estate community.
  • Collaboratively serves as a backup contact for other Mortgage Lending Specialists during their absence.
  • Performs additional duties as required.
Requirements

A minimum of four years of relevant mortgage lending or origination experience is required. Strong sales, business development, organizational, and communication skills are essential. Ability to learn and effectively utilize required technology and applications. Willingness to work outside of standard business hours and travel extensively within the Bank's lending community.
