Position Overview: Clinical Dietitian - Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation

Hours: PRN - Anticipating approximately 10 hours/week, with potential for additional hours

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the formulation and execution of Cardiopulmonary programs and strategies aimed at increasing client engagement and market presence for nutrition services.
  • Ensure the highest standards of clinical care and operational effectiveness, integrating programs within the Bon Secours framework.
  • Utilize the nutritional care process to screen, assess, plan, and deliver nutritional care and education to the patient populations served. Develop and implement community nutrition education initiatives as needed, targeting specific markets. Additionally, create and implement the nutritional components of region-specific sports performance and fitness programs.
  • Provide nutritional care to patients in accordance with hospital, CMS, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited four-year program in Clinical Nutrition or Dietetics with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Completion of an internship sanctioned by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Eligibility for Registered Dietitian status.
  • Preferred additional training and/or experience in Cardiac Nutrition and Wellness.
  • 1-2 years of experience in outpatient nutrition or a Master's degree is preferred.
Essential Functions:
  • Develop and oversee nutrition programs in alignment with client relationships and satisfaction for nutrition care.
  • Engage in marketing efforts for individual and regional services, coordinating collateral development from a clinical perspective as necessary.
  • Provide and supervise nutrition care for clients, ensuring satisfaction and retention.
  • Manage and promote food and nutrition programs, developing educational resources according to Bon Secours standards.
  • Facilitate education and outreach to various organizations and community partners regarding nutrition-related issues as required for program growth.
  • Deliver nutrition care/Medical Nutrition Therapy for physician-referred patients, including screening, assessment, intervention, and follow-up to meet patient nutrition needs and satisfaction levels. Document and submit charges through the electronic medical records system as appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Bon Secours/client policies and procedures.
  • Participate in marketing initiatives targeting local physicians regarding counseling and sports performance opportunities.
  • May involve facilitating assessments, counseling, education, and developing individualized plans for patients with diet and weight-related concerns, including nutrition for optimal cardiac health.
