Job Overview:

AIMS Locum Tenens LLC is in search of a skilled Pediatric Nutrition Specialist to deliver exceptional nutritional guidance and support to pediatric outpatients. The role involves acting as a vital link between the Nutrition Management Department and young patients, assessing their nutritional requirements, crafting personalized dietary plans, and providing expert consultation to the healthcare team. Additionally, the position includes engaging in educational initiatives, research, and clinical trials aimed at enhancing pediatric nutritional practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Privileges: Deliver services in accordance with the clinical privileges assigned by the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) Director.
  • Contractual Duties: Execute responsibilities as outlined in the basic contract.
  • Patient Liaison: Facilitate communication between the Nutrition Management Department and pediatric patients to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain essential records, reports, and statistics in compliance with MTF standard operating procedures.
  • Nutritional Evaluation: Gather and analyze relevant nutritional data, including medication, clinical symptoms, lab results, and dietary history for pediatric patients.
  • Dietary Analysis: Calculate nutrient and energy intake values while assessing dietary history data.
  • Pediatric Nutrition Counseling: Provide specialized dietary advice for pediatric patients with specific nutritional management needs.
  • Assessment Development: Assist in creating assessment techniques and educational protocols for pediatric patients facing complex nutritional or psychosocial challenges.
  • Professional Development: Educate medical residents, interns, and other healthcare professionals on pediatric nutritional management.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in multidisciplinary treatment teams, working alongside physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.
  • Care Coordination: Review medical records and collaborate with team members to devise and implement nutritional care plans.
  • Complex Nutritional Care: Offer dietary counseling and nutrition services for pediatric patients with intricate dietary needs.
  • Patient Compliance Strategies: Develop tailored approaches to enhance adherence to dietary plans.
  • Diet Histories: Conduct comprehensive diet histories to understand patients' food habits and preferences.
  • Data Analysis: Evaluate anthropometric data, lab parameters, and dietary needs from patient records.
  • Dietary Planning: Create individualized dietary plans based on disease understanding and patient nutritional status.
  • Implementation of Dietary Regimens: Execute dietary plans in consultation with referring healthcare providers.
  • Dietary Adjustments: Modify dietary prescriptions as necessary in collaboration with physicians.
  • Documentation: Accurately record the outcomes of nutritional assessments and counseling sessions.
  • Patient Education Coordination: Organize educational activities related to pediatric dietetics.
  • Participation in Educational Programs: Engage in seminars and workshops focused on pediatric nutrition.
  • Consultative Support: Provide expertise to fellow dietitians and healthcare team members regarding pediatric nutrition.
  • Research Engagement: Involve in applied nutritional research and clinical studies.
  • Outcome Monitoring: Assess practice effectiveness through client database evaluations.
  • Laboratory Data Assessment: Interpret laboratory data to evaluate nutritional status.
  • Diet Evaluation: Review diet history and food frequency data to inform care plans.
  • Diet Modification: Adjust dietary plans considering various nutritional factors.
  • Alternative Dietary Plans: Provide options for food allergies or dietary preferences.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics or Nutrition from an accredited institution.
  • Certification: Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification.
  • Experience: At least two years of experience in pediatric nutrition, preferably in an outpatient context.
  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted license to practice dietetics in any U.S. jurisdiction.
