Position: Licensed Practical Nurse
As a Licensed Practical Nurse at Cayuga Medical Center, you will play a vital role within a collaborative interdisciplinary team focused on delivering compassionate and comprehensive care to our community. LPNs are empowered to practice to the fullest extent of their training, engaging in the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of care programs aimed at enhancing patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with patients and colleagues.
- Administer medications within the scope of practice and ensure accurate documentation in the patient’s electronic medical record (EMR).
- Collect and accurately record data pertinent to patient care in the EMR.
- Report any abnormal findings or changes in a patient’s condition to the registered nurse, including vital signs and emotional status.
- Respond promptly to patient needs and call signals.
- License: Must possess an active New York Nursing license; out-of-state applicants are welcome.
- Education: Completion of an accredited LPN program is required.
- Experience: Previous experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; new hires may obtain this during the introductory period.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers, including keyboarding; ability to lift and carry light loads (up to 40 lbs) and perform tasks that require bending and kneeling.
- Ability to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods as necessary; must be capable of operating required equipment.
- Emotional stability and strong organizational skills are essential to manage the demands of a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary for effective interaction with patients, peers, supervisors, and other healthcare professionals.
- Hourly pay range: $24.04 to $32.21.
