Position Overview

Role: Certified Surgical Tech / Licensed Practical Nurse - Full Time

Incentive: $15,000 Sign-on Bonus

As a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) at Cayuga Medical Center, you will play a vital role in a collaborative healthcare team focused on providing exceptional patient care. You will have the opportunity to work within your full scope of practice, contributing to the development and evaluation of programs aimed at improving patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold standards of care for surgical patients, in line with AORN guidelines.
  • Prepare surgical environments by organizing supplies and ensuring cleanliness of equipment.
  • Anticipate the needs of surgeons and anesthesia providers by assembling necessary instruments and supplies.
  • Exhibit proficiency in handling surgical materials and responding to patient needs during procedures.
  • Assist in patient positioning and preparation, adhering to established surgical protocols.
  • Identify and address potential safety hazards, ensuring equipment is properly maintained.
  • Follow infection control practices and remain adaptable to the dynamic needs of patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Licensure: Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT, or a valid LPN license.
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program, eligible for certification.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Availability for day shifts with flexible scheduling options (5x8s, 4x10s, or 3x12s). On-call responsibilities on a rotating basis.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent use of hands and fingers; ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Occasional walking, sitting, and bending required.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision.

Work Environment:

  • This position is performed onsite.

Compensation:

  • Hourly wage range: $30.00 to $39.28.
