Surgical Technologist and Licensed Practical Nurse

As a Surgical Technologist at Cayuga Medical Center, you will play a vital role in a collaborative healthcare team focused on delivering high-quality, compassionate care to our community. You will have the opportunity to practice within your full scope of expertise and contribute to the development and evaluation of programs aimed at improving patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold care standards for surgical patients, in accordance with AORN guidelines.
- Prepare surgical environments by organizing supplies and maintaining equipment.
- Anticipate the needs of surgeons and anesthesia providers by preparing necessary instruments and materials.
- Exhibit proficiency in handling surgical supplies and equipment, adapting to patient needs during procedures.
- Assist in patient positioning and preparation, following established surgical protocols.
- Identify and address potential safety risks, ensuring a safe surgical environment.
- Adhere to infection control practices and stay updated on relevant policies and continuing education.
- Certification: NBSTSA or NCCT certification, or a valid LPN license.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program, eligible for certification.
- Flexible scheduling options available, including day shifts with various hour configurations.
- Frequent standing, use of hands, and mobility are required.
- Ability to lift and move weights ranging from 10 to 50 pounds regularly.
- Visual acuity for close and distance vision is necessary.
- Onsite position.
- Hourly pay range: $30.00 to $39.28.
