ROLE PURPOSE:

The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for the comprehensive management of volunteer activities within the division. This encompasses all facets of volunteer recruitment, scheduling, placement, group leadership, and engagement. The Manager will guide volunteers to fulfill the responsibilities of their roles and support the division's operational needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support division operations by engaging volunteers in alignment with specific needs and projects, in collaboration with the Executive Director.
  • Attract volunteers to assist division operations through community outreach and invitations to participate in specific initiatives.
  • Create engaging environments for volunteers that foster positive experiences and a safe, enjoyable atmosphere.
  • Identify, train, and schedule lead volunteers to facilitate group activities and represent the MFB brand effectively.
  • Encourage and mentor volunteers through appropriate placement, supervision, and ongoing support; provide annual re-training for lead volunteers.
  • Coordinate with Operations/Warehouse/Agency roles to schedule and manage individual and group volunteer activities, ensuring safe and meaningful work experiences.
  • Oversee volunteer opportunities, hours, and requests utilizing electronic management systems.
  • Organize and implement annual volunteer appreciation events.
  • Provide general office support as necessary.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Promote a culture centered on compassion; build positive relationships with volunteers, staff, partner agencies, and community contacts.
  • Ensure adherence to all MFB policies, procedures, and regulations, as well as compliance with relevant laws.
  • Recruit, train, and nurture volunteers to support the role effectively.
  • Network with peers locally and nationally within the MFB organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; 5 years preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to foster a collaborative environment and achieve results through teamwork; experience in volunteer leadership is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence community engagement and maintain a positive brand image.
  • Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving capabilities, organizational skills, and effective time management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong customer service abilities.
  • Proficient in technology or willing to learn software applications, including Office 365.
  • Open to participating in training for professional development and understanding MFB's policies and procedures.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Combination of office work at a desk and active engagement in a warehouse setting.
  • Occasional travel may be required; limited evening and weekend commitments.
Compensation: $44,500 - $55,000 annually
