Position Overview:

We are seeking candidates for a temporary part-time role focused on delivering academic and vocational assistance to students with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities participating in the College's HALO Program.

The expected work schedule is approximately 18-24 hours weekly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the daily operations of the HALO Program under the guidance of the Director, including recruitment, outreach, application processing, and program evaluation.
  • Manage documentation and maintain comprehensive student records.
  • Collaborate with instructors to organize experiential learning opportunities both on and off-campus for HALO participants.
  • Support the coordination of the HALO Peer Mentor initiative.
  • Advocate for students to ensure equitable access and foster their independence and life skills development.
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or relevant experience/education.
  • Familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504, or similar regulations.
  • Experience working directly with individuals with diverse diagnoses or disabilities.
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Capacity to engage effectively and inclusively with students in the HALO Program while promoting their autonomy.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting students with disabilities at the post-secondary level.
  • Experience in a mentoring capacity with students.
