Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

As a Manufacturing Operations Specialist at PURIS, you will be instrumental in maintaining optimal plant performance, ensuring a 90% uptime while executing your daily responsibilities in operations and food safety. To uphold product integrity, it is essential to maintain a clean working environment, adhering to PURIS' Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and Quality Standards consistently. Safety is our utmost priority; therefore, all team members must comply with plant policies regarding Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Monitor and operate plant machinery, managing product flow to guarantee peak operational efficiency; implement immediate corrective measures for any issues that arise.
  • Execute routine and non-routine tasks safely while fostering a culture of safety.
  • Assist with the intake of raw material shipments into the facility.
  • Complete necessary documentation and process checklists regularly.
  • Operate packaging machinery and conduct quality assessments throughout the production process.
  • Engage in loading various shipping containers.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the plant.
  • Support preventive maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Mechanical aptitude is preferred.
  • Prior experience operating fork trucks is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Food Safety is a plus.
  • Minimum of one year in a manufacturing setting or relevant agricultural experience.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Desire to learn and assist colleagues.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and documents related to work.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Physical capability to perform labor-intensive tasks.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hearing, eye, and hand protection.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods during shifts.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend stairs multiple times throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to reach overhead as necessary.
  • Must be able to work safely at elevated platforms when required.
