Reliability Engineering Specialist

The primary objective of the Reliability Engineer (RE) is to enhance the reliability performance of assets while adhering to all relevant standards, procedures, and policies. The RE adopts a long-term strategic perspective, focusing on opportunities that influence the measured capability of assets at PURIS Proteins. Utilizing advanced reliability technologies and methodologies, the RE formulates strategies aimed at improving asset reliability and operational availability. This role involves the development, execution, and analysis of maintenance plans tailored for site equipment and facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to all safety, GMP, PURIS, and other established policies and procedures while achieving defined key performance indicators (KPIs) and meeting organizational goals.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of Equipment Hierarchy and identify Critical Equipment.
- Conduct FMEA to create maintenance plans based on failure modes, identifying applicable preventive and predictive maintenance tasks.
- Ensure thorough data analysis and prompt corrective actions.
- Analyze trends and data to pinpoint and prioritize improvement opportunities.
- Manage the Bad Actor Program focused on defect elimination.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCAs) for significant and recurring reliability challenges.
- Monitor KPIs and metrics for proactive identification and resolution of reliability concerns.
- Lead and manage cross-functional reliability improvement teams.
- Formulate and implement action plans aimed at enhancing reliability.
- Develop, document, and train personnel on standard operating procedures as necessary.
- Assist in maintainability analysis and planning for new equipment.
- Collaborate with Technical Disciplines, Operations, and Maintenance to identify opportunities for improving capacity utilization through equipment revisions or changes in operational practices.
- Foster partnerships and collaborate within the organization to achieve shared objectives.
- Support and lead complex equipment overhauls.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues as required.
- Maintain up-to-date Operator Care Routes.
- Specify spare parts and assist in the MRO role related to assets in the CMMS.
- Document all changes through the Management of Change Process and maintain records in the CMMS.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience applying best-practice reliability-focused maintenance methodologies in an industrial manufacturing setting.
- Proficient in reliability methodologies such as FMEA, RCA, and statistical downtime analysis.
- Proven track record of implementing effective reliability and maintenance improvements.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in design, engineering, and specification of systems and projects.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of influencing all levels of management and personnel.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and CMMS software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP).
- Certifications in Predictive Maintenance Technologies.
- Over 7 years of experience in manufacturing with a strong reliability culture.
