The Nursing Simulation Operations Coordinator is tasked with providing essential instructional support for the daily functions within the Nursing simulation environment. This role encompasses the preparation, management, and overall upkeep of all simulation apparatus and materials, including simulators, manikins, control systems, and audio-visual technology as necessary.

This individual will collaborate closely with the National Simulation Director, Campus Simulation Champion, Nursing Leadership, Campus Director, faculty, and students to foster excellence in simulation-based education.


Key Responsibilities:
Simulation Center Management – 80%
Oversees the execution of all simulation activities.

Prepare, set up, dismantle, clean, and replenish simulation, VR, debriefing rooms, and additional instructional spaces before and after all simulation sessions.

Ensures optimal functionality of simulation equipment - manikins, simulators, task trainers, SimPads, Instructor PCs, monitors, and VR technology.
Organizes and maintains storage areas, hallways, and control rooms.
Assists faculty with equipment operation, providing hands-on training as required.
Works in conjunction with the National Simulation Director to maintain records related to equipment warranties and maintenance schedules.
Facilitates regular maintenance and repair of all simulation apparatus.
Conducts orientation for learners and faculty regarding the simulator, manikin, environment, including equipment, supplies, monitors, etc.
Tracks and manages inventory and supplies.
Receives, stores, and stocks equipment and materials.
Conducts campus tours and participates in community outreach events as needed.

Engages in simulation training to maintain proficiency in operating simulation equipment and adhering to best practices in simulation education delivery.

Collaborates effectively with Nursing Leadership, the National Simulation Director, Simulation Specialists, Campus Director, faculty, and staff in all aspects related to the Simulation Center.

Supports the vision of simulation delivery across the organization.
Acts as the IDR for laboratory medical waste management and medical waste training as mandated by OSHA.
Technology Support – 20%
Performs software and firmware updates for simulation equipment and technology.
Troubleshoots all simulation technology; liaising with vendors and campus technology support as necessary.

Reporting Structure:


The Nursing Simulation Operations Coordinator reports directly to the Nurse Administrator, who may hold the title of Dean of Nursing, Associate Dean of Nursing, or Area Dean of Nursing. This role collaborates closely with the National Simulation Director and campus leadership regularly. Interaction with the Nursing Laboratory Assistant may occur as needed. This position does not have direct reports.


Qualifications:
A professional certificate, diploma, or applied associate's degree is preferred.
A minimum of one year of experience in a clinical environment within a healthcare setting.
Certification as a Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) or Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) is advantageous.
Proficient knowledge and ability to utilize medical simulation equipment.
High level of technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and prioritization abilities.
Familiarity with nursing concepts, terminology, and techniques.
Capability to set up and operate video equipment.
Ability to uphold safety and hygiene standards.
Capacity to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends as required.
