About the Role

The Associate, Institutional Sales & Service position is a critical role within the institutional sales group at Alger. This position will direct and execute key tasks to deliver optimal service and improve client retention and growth for our institutional client base.

  • Software Proficiency: Develop proficiency in various software capabilities that assist in providing client and strategy information.

  • Team Player: Demonstrate commitment to shared team goals; encourage team members to contribute their ideas and skills; collaborate with colleagues in other departments to ensure successful client and consultant interactions.
  • Industry Knowledge: Remain current and competent on issues and events that have an impact on our business and industry.
Qualifications
  • Education: Undergraduate Degree and ideally more than 3 years of experience in client service, sales, operations, portfolio management support or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Cumulative GPA: Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or above in a 4.0 scale.
  • FINRA Series: FINRA Series 7 and 63 preferred (if not, successful attainment required after hiring).
  • Institutional Experience: Institutional asset management experience is preferred.
  • CFA Designation: Advancement towards the CFA designation or an equivalent combination of training and experience preferred, but not required.

  • Communication: Successful candidates will have the confidence to interact professionally at the senior level, effective communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and flexibility to travel when required.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills are a must.
  • Customer Focus: Customer and results-oriented.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy; ability to anticipate and act independently.
  • Leadership: High energy, motivated, and proven leadership skills.
  • Business Knowledge: Knowledge of business and investing, and eager to expand knowledge in all aspects of the institutional asset management business.
Compensation

Base salary anticipated to be $90-120k, plus discretionary bonus and outstanding benefits.
