Position Overview

The Service Equipment Specialist is accountable for executing calibration and preventive maintenance (PM) on fundamental industrial weighing instruments, such as floor and bench scales, independently within the designated Business Area. This role may also involve supporting colleagues with installations, projects, and repairs as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts calibrations and preventive maintenance tasks in accordance with company protocols and client specifications.
  • Collaborates effectively with the Scheduling Analyst and Service Support Team as required.
  • Actively promotes and sells services and products, with the expectation of submitting sales leads aligned with experience.
  • Ensures adherence to all safety and quality regulations set by the company and clients.
  • Strives to meet customer uptime demands and completes all assignments punctually.
  • Accurately fills out and submits necessary documentation daily via a company-issued laptop in a professional manner.
  • Maintains strong professional relationships with both internal and external clients, sales teams, technicians, and leadership.
  • Fosters a collaborative environment with field and service support colleagues.
  • Complies with the Company Fleet policy.
  • Timely submission of Weights & Measures documentation to relevant authorities.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • High School Diploma or GED, or 5 years of relevant experience with a focus on Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Technology, or Computer Science, or equivalent education and experience in a technical support or troubleshooting role.
  • Preferred: Associate's degree (AA) in a technical field from a two-year college.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles or field service is advantageous; commercial experience is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical repair principles, including PC networking and software configuration.
  • 1-3 years of experience in electro/mechanical repair or the weighing industry.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL and Weights and Measures license for continued employment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Capability to learn proprietary software and manage information using company programs.
  • Willingness to travel overnight, averaging up to 10%, with potential peaks up to 25% based on business needs.
  • Residence within the service area is required.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, which may average around 10%, but could reach up to 25% during peak periods.
  • Preparedness to work in environments with potential hazards, including exposure to chemicals, vehicle traffic, and machinery.
  • Commitment to wearing necessary protective equipment and clothing when required.
