The
Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor
is tasked with diagnosing aircraft issues and executing corrective measures. This role holds the ultimate accountability for the quality of maintenance operations and turnaround times. It is crucial in maintaining a professional image to our clientele.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilize analytical skills to resolve technical challenges
Manage multiple tasks to ensure maintenance is completed by the agreed delivery schedule.
Oversees a team of technicians and/or shop staff in the upkeep of specific aircraft types, ensuring maintenance is performed effectively, deadlines are met, and customer satisfaction is achieved.
Efficient manpower allocation and monitoring of hours charged to tasks are essential responsibilities of this position.Coordinates with management in scheduling aircraft arrivals/departures, planning job scopes, and keeping customers informed about work progress.
Ensures adherence to safe working practices on every aircraft job or throughout the facility.Essential Duties
Supervises a team of technicians in executing aircraft maintenance tasks. Evaluates, recommends salary adjustments, and manages other personnel changes, recognizing and addressing crew performance. Ensures technicians are accountable for the quality of their maintenance work.
Delegates tasks to team members based on scheduled deadlines and the technical skills of the staff.
Provides technical direction to technicians regarding aircraft maintenance configurations, service bulletins, directives, and enhancements. Must stay informed on the scope of required maintenance for clients and coordinates efforts to guarantee timely completion.
In collaboration with management, pre-plans maintenance tasks on aircraft, including manpower deployment, parts procurement, opening work orders, and customer briefings.
Documents all additional items and discrepancies noted during inspections.Monitors hours billed to projects to ensure cost control and adherence to deadlines. Reviews employee time records daily to confirm accuracy of time charged to work orders.
Communicates with department managers or customer project managers regarding issues and work status to ensure timely and complete customer communications.
Reviews documentation for sign-offs and parts issues after aircraft departure, prior to closing in the inspection department. May conduct final inspections to ensure aircraft cleanliness and readiness for departure.Ensures that team members receive adequate training on assigned aircraft and are scheduled for ongoing technical training, whether in-house or at designated external locations.
Collaborates with other Supervisors or departments to ensure cross-training on various aircraft.Engages in 'hands-on' maintenance as necessary to ensure timely departures and customer satisfaction.
Coordinates with other departments as needed to guarantee a positive customer experience at the facility.
Actively seeks to enhance efficiency, work performance, quality, and turnaround times.
Adheres to and promotes safety, environmental, and general housekeeping standards.
Proactively addresses safety concerns; encourages safe work practices among the team, monitors the work environment for hazards, and takes corrective actions as needed.
Performs additional duties as assigned by the department.Position Requirements
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
A&P Certificate.
A minimum of seven years experience as an A&P Mechanic in corporate aviation with a focus on Embraer aircraft.
Eligibility Requirements:
Experience in leading or supervising a team.
Proven technical expertise on airframes in heavy maintenance, light maintenance, and service bulletins.
Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
Plan, organize, and coordinate multiple activities to achieve quality maintenance within established timeframes.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills to interface with customers and team members.
Demonstrated ability to engage with customers and address their concerns directly.
Ability to achieve desired outcomes using a collaborative team approach.
Capable of setting clear expectations, monitoring progress, providing feedback, and holding team members accountable.
Ability to solve problems using technical data, past experiences, and team input.
Ability to treat colleagues and team members with respect and professionalism.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, earning their trust and respect.
